John Pritzker began his career at Hyatt Hotels Corporation in 1972, and in 1984 became Managing Director and Divisional Vice President of Hyatt Hotels and Resorts. John was a founding board member of Ticketmaster, Inc. and Chemdex/Ventro Corporation. Additionally, he has served as Chairman and CEO of a number of businesses in the hospitality industry, including Red Sail Sports, Mandara Spa, LLC and The Odyssey Club.
Currently, John serves as co-chairman of the board of Two Roads Hospitality. Pritzker’s civic involvement includes the boards of the UCSF Foundation, the UCSF Executive Board, Tipping Point Community, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the Bernard Osher Foundation. He is a past President of the San Francisco Jewish Community Federation, in addition to his work with the Lisa and John Pritzker Family Foundation.
As the co-founder and Managing General Partner of Geolo Capital, Tom brings more than 30 years of experience in banking, real estate development, the hospitality industry and in managing private equity investments in the U.S. and the Pacific Rim. After a career in banking and international finance, Tom worked as the Chief Investment Officer and one of the founding partners for the InterPacific Group. InterPacific invested throughout the Pacific Rim in the hospitality industry, consumer services and products, real estate development and recreational facilities.
In 1995, Tom co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Mandara Spa. He currently serves on the boards of Exclusive Resorts and Two Roads Hospitality. Formerly, he served on the boards of Local TV and Western Athletic Clubs.
Tom received a B.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.A. in Chinese politics from Stanford University.
Omar brings over 25 years of experience in finance, domestic and cross-border transactions, and debt and equity capital markets to the Geolo team. Prior to joining Geolo, Omar served as CFO of Playa Hotels & Resorts where he led the company’s refinancing and recapitalization efforts. Before that, he was CFO of One&Only Resorts, where he was engaged in the day‑to‑day oversight of operations and finance. Omar held various positions at One&Only’s parent company, Kerzner International Ltd., including key roles in finance, treasury and investor relations. Omar played a pivotal role in the $4.3 billion privatization of Kerzner in 2006 by leading the fundraising and coordinating the closing of the transaction.
Omar graduated with honors from the University of Miami with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and an emphasis in accounting. He is also a member of the University of Miami’s President’s Council and the Dean’s Advisory Board of the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.
SVP Development & Construction
In Brad’s role as Senior Vice President, Development and Construction, he has overall responsibility of Geolo’s capital investment and improvement programs for both the existing property portfolio and our new development opportunities. Prior to joining Geolo, Brad held the position of Vice President, Development at WeWork where he oversaw new product development and construction for WeLive; the international start-up’s co-living brand. Previously, Brad served as the Head of Development at AJ Capital Partners where he successfully managed the design, construction, and opening efforts for a diverse portfolio of boutique hotel, restaurant, and office assets.
Brad brings a broad background in capital programming and project management to Geolo; having spent six years with Jones Lang LaSalle in Chicago, IL and two with Lend Lease in Oahu, HI. He received an MBA with a concentration in Finance from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and a BS in Industrial Management & Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
John oversees Geolo’s new development and operating hotel capital expense work. Before joining Geolo, he led the North America Architecture and Construction group at Starwood Hotels and Resorts. During his tenure with Starwood he was responsible for project management of Westin, Sheraton, and Le Méridien. He also oversaw the Luxury Brand Group including W Hotels, St. Regis and The Luxury Collection. Prior to joining Starwood, John spent seven years in New York City with Hines Interests LP, an internationally renowned real estate development firm.
John obtained his MBA from Columbia Business School and also holds an M. Arch and B.S. from the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Westchester Chapter of Habitat for Humanity® and on the advisory board of HotelPoint®.
As Controller of Geolo and the related family office since 2008, John works closely with the management team on overall financial management and budgeting, facilitates information flow with lenders and portfolio investments. He also oversees the general accounting function. Prior to joining Geolo, John worked as Controller in the multi-family office at Seiler LLP, and prior to that, as an Assistant Controller of the family office at the Fremont Group. His experience also includes accounting and finance positions at United Parcel Service.
John graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.S. in Business Administration (with a Concentration in Accounting) and he holds an M.S. in Finance from Golden Gate University.
VP Asset Management
Jeffrey brings his development experience within the boutique and lifestyle hotel space to his Principal role on both the business development and asset management teams. Prior to joining Geolo, Jeffrey held several positions at the complementary arm of our business: Commune Hotels + Resorts. While at Commune, Jeffrey served as the Senior Director of Acquisitions and Development where his primary responsibilities included sourcing, acquiring and negotiating management contracts and investment opportunities for each of Commune’s unique hotel brands.
Previously, Jeffrey worked with Kimpton®Hotels & Restaurants on the Acquisitions and Development team, evaluating new acquisitions for private equity real estate funds and third-party management agreements.
Jeffrey graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. from the School of Hotel Administration.
Ben brings his diverse background in international and domestic real estate investing to Geolo in a dual focused role covering asset management and business development. Prior to joining Geolo, Ben was the Vice President of Acquisitions at AJ Capital Partners and one of the founders of Graduate Hotels®. While at AJ Capital, Ben oversaw the growth of Graduate Hotels® from a concept to a scalable investment platform and was responsible for the acquisition, financing and redevelopment of ten hotel properties. Prior to his tenure at AJ Capital, Ben spent three years in Tokyo with Morgan Stanley Real Estate where he covered the firm’s hospitality business in Asia Pacific and Europe.
Ben received an MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson School and holds a BA from the University of Michigan.
Justin brings over 20 years of hotel real estate investment, asset management, consulting and operations experience to the Geolo team in his role as Vice President of Asset Management. Prior to joining Geolo, Justin served as a Vice President in the Hotel Group of Barings Real Estate Advisers, where he oversaw an extensive portfolio of hotels, resorts, and new developments and led several dispositions. Before joining Barings, Justin was a Senior Vice President in JLL’s Hospitality and Leisure division, playing an integral role in leading strategic consulting assignments, asset management and business development. Justin gained operations experience while working in various executive roles with Caesars Entertainment and learned the fundamentals of hotel real estate early in his career while working with Lend Lease and Prudential Capital.
Justin received an MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management and graduated with honors with a BA from Morehouse College.
Michael brings his asset management experience from a public REIT to Geolo. Prior to joining Geolo, Michael worked as a senior analyst for four years at Pebblebrook Hotel Trust (NYSE: PEB) on their asset management team, where his primary responsibilities included developing, producing and maintaining monthly and quarterly reports for a portion of Pebblebrook’s hotel portfolio, and exploring new property initiatives. Prior to his tenure at Pebblebrook, Michael also worked as an intern for Jones Lang LaSalle, Four Seasons, and Starwood.
Michael graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. from the School of Hotel Administration.
David brings his asset management and acquisitions experience from a New York City development firm to Geolo. Prior to joining Geolo, David worked as an associate at The Moinian Group, where his primary responsibilities included asset management of five hotel properties in New York City and the Caribbean, as well as underwriting acquisitions and loans. Prior to his tenure at The Moinian Group, David co-founded Dos Amigos at Cornell University, a late-night Cali-Mex food truck.
David graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. from the School of Hotel Administration.
